Our History

Eight Decades of Shaping Futures

The story of Delhi Public School Society is a story of vision, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education. What began in 1941 as a modest school has grown into a pan-Indian and global institution that touches the lives of hundreds of thousands of students every year.

Through independence, partition, and the rapid modernisation of India, the Society remained steadfast in its commitment to providing quality education that is both rooted in Indian culture and open to the best of global knowledge. Each decade brought new schools, new programmes, and new milestones — but the core purpose remained constant: to nurture young minds to their fullest potential.

Today, with over 200 schools spanning multiple countries, the DPS Society stands as a testament to the enduring importance of education in building individuals, communities, and nations. DPS Kamrup is proud to carry this legacy forward in the North-East of India.

“It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”
